Somehow it seems to be an elusive fact for Hollywood that if you're going to make a story about a minor comic book character, then give that story to the fans or to those creators who actually have something to say. Recently, we have very "broad" series and movies that pull characters from all angles and shove them in our faces. So I can't really say that all attempts have been unsuccessful... but my goodness, did anyone here at least know what they were trying to say? I doubt it very much, this movie is built according to such a template that it is edible like a white concoction on the 3rd day of Christmas, but just watching it makes you want to vomit. The worst part is that the movie wastes your time… it has nothing interesting to say, none of the action scenes are inspiring, and even though it's only been a few days since I watched it, I barely remember half of the movie. From the first moments you feel that the developers really do not respect you…
I'll admit, Morbius was one of my favorite villains from the old Spider Man movie (I also really liked Kraven The Hunter). In the movie, he was an interesting character, neither bad nor good, but he always had quite a few twists in the story. I don't know what kind of character this should be, but definitely not Morbius, maybe some kind of emo vampire? Nope, that's just Jared Leto sniffing his bum. And someday we will get out of the time when all superhero movies have the main story - you have to stop the bad guy who also has the same ends as you... well, it's not interesting anymore, now this structure has become famous and you could really throw it out the window as far as possible. But I understand how simple it is and does not require any creativity, and when you have a very smooth brain, you may not have much creativity...
Am I the only one who wants to turn the movie off immediately after seeing Jered Lett in a movie? Am I the only one who looks like an emo bro, where he's about to cry if someone doesn't tell him how cool he is, he always has the appearance of a 40-year-old teenage girl hanging out with him. Damn, all the actors/characters here are CRINGE and I felt like a school performance of a play in terms of quality. Instead of giving us at least a few scenes to show why we're supposed to consider these characters "So Cool," the movie just keeps poking at you and saying, WOW, isn't our Morbius a cool character? Won't you be clapping your hands that he has super powers? I can only answer one thing - cool? Have you at least seen your own movie? The stupidest thing about Morbium is that if the movie was at least a little more self-aware and able to make fun of itself, at least for a moment it didn't take everything mega seriously, I can guarantee you - we would get a pretty good comedy.Overall - 3/10
