Description: Visit the fantastic land of Gearbolt and embark on an unforgettable journey with a motley crew of travelers. In which the characters will try to unite 2 best friends. In terms of characters, animation style, and colors, this is a very great anime. It's fast, energetic and full of strange characters and creatures. I'd say it's a mix between CowBoy Bebop and Trigun, plus some weirder spices. Most of this anime is pretty relaxed and tells fun stories, but sometimes it's not afraid to show something serious. Add to that an interesting world with a variety of gadgets and weapons, and you'll be drawn into this story very quickly.

While some of the characters can be a bit stuffy and one-tone at first, as the series progresses many of them become more fleshed out and much more endearing. I'm also never one to turn down sci-fi stories with a western twist, and Cannon Busters delivers in spades. Although this season has one main story, the most fun characters and adventures lie in the small individual deviations. For the evening, this anime will be light and fun.

Overall, this first season ends rather weakly. Oh yes, all the characters appear in one place and the high point of the story is reached, but it did not leave much desire to watch the second season. Partly because many of the conflicts are either resolved or starting over again. In general, it's hard to say why, or maybe there are too many small details, but this world doesn't "stick" much, it always seems that something is missing until the top 10. Although it's been 3 years since the first season and there's no news about a renewal, so I don't have high hopes of seeing more of this world.

Overall - 7/10
