Description: A high school student discovers that he is Ajin, a half-human. Because of his powers, he starts to run away from the people who are hunting him and the agents of the state. But soon a much bigger and more terrible force is revealed that can destroy all of Japan.

This whole anime reminded me a lot of "Death Note" and not because it has to do with death in general. This story is also about 2 very intelligent and powerful sides trying to outwit each other all the time. In the sequel, many of the action scenes and character plans are really twisted and well thought out. More than once, you can be surprised and say, "ohhh, this is a good game". So if you like such stories, it will be just right here.

Also, this story is about characters, but not just good and bad. Many of the characters on both sides have both bad qualities and fairly logical excuses for their brutal actions. Then there's no big separation where it's just super duper good guys saving everyone, and it's not just bad guys kicking puppies for breakfast.

If I had something to cling to, it would probably be the presentation of the anime itself. Sometimes the sound design or the action animation itself doesn't feel as high quality as you'd like. As I mentioned earlier, merging 2D and 3D animations doesn't always turn out as well as expected. It doesn't destroy the charm of this anime, it's just a small detail that can detract from the strengths of this story.

Overall - 8/10
